Daisy days
We had an email this morning about Daisys for our little girl. Apparently this is now the first stage of Girl Scouts. (I was a Brownie many many years ago.) We have been invited to an organisational meeting and instructed as to what uniform to buy. So a quick trip to Edinboro to the Girl Scout Shop there was needed.
Things have changed a lot in Girl Scouts since I was a little girl. For one thing, the Daisy smock is all that is needed. When I was a Brownie there seemed to be a lot of uniform to buy, which was something of a problem as funds were limited and there were two of us to buy for as I have a sister. I quite like the smock idea as it just goes over normal clothes so the girls can have a special look but without having to dress in head to toe uniform.
The troop will meet once a month and do crafts and earn patches. The little one is very excited about the whole idea. I am hopeful that one or two of her school friends will also be joining so that she knows a few people when she gets there. I’m sure the troop leaders are used to helping the little ones settle in anyway.
Now we just have to worry about having to move before she has a chance to wear her uniform more than once! Come on Erie area employers, pick up the phone!
