No smoke without fire
And indeed we had fire as well as smoke at work today. It’s exciting, working in the US. I am assured by colleagues who have been there 20+ years that this is the first fire they have experienced.
Guess that makes me lucky, experiencing one on my 6th day
I can make light of it because no-one was hurt. The fire was small, and sorted out in quick time by the emergency services, but we were all sent home because the smoke filled the building and made it unsafe for a while. I presume it will be back to normal tomorrow, except for the small area where the fire happened.
Meanwhile we’re busy sorting out the home insurance on the new house. During that process we discovered that some items had ‘disappeared’ off our existing policy. Hmmmmm. Not sure how that happens. The insurance company assures us that, should anything have happened to the items, they would have been insured. Luckily it didn’t come to that. I’ll go through the new policy with a fine tooth-comb when I sign all the paperwork on Thursday.
Is it a coincidence that the day I sort out house insurance we have a fire at work? Of course it is, but it reinforces the importance of proper home insurance.

If you’re still shopping around, I’d recommend Erie Insurance.

And I thought “IT Pig Fest” was the biggest danger to hubby! No one told me that there would be a fire!!!!! At least it was the first in 20 years. When the next one is due he should be retired!
