This section of Erieversible is a celebration of differences between life in the UK and in the US.  Topics will be added as time goes by, and there will be a mixture of really serious, factual pages as well as some more light-hearted views.  We hope you find something useful or entertaining here, and if there’s a subject you’d like to see covered please let us know.  Also, if we’ve slipped up and got something wrong, do get in touch to correct us.

These pages are not meant to be ultra-detailed texts on their subjects but are simply high-level pointers to areas of difference.  if you want the full facts on VAT, for instance, there are plenty of authoritative sites out there with the information, but if you don’t know about it in the first place you can’t go find them.  Indeed, if we trigger you to go search out more detailed information on any subject we think we’ve done some good.
